WILLIAMSBURG — Excitement and optimism continue to build for the William & Mary football team’s upcoming 2022 campaign as it garnered a preseason national ranking by Athlon Sports (No. 23).
W&M is coming off a successful 2021 campaign in which it totaled the program’s most wins since 2015 and garnered a national ranking multiple weeks.
Additionally, the Tribe finished last season with the Colonial Athletic Association’s most productive rushing offense and placed seven standouts on the postseason all-conference team, highlighted by All-America defensive end Nate Lynn, a Buck Buchanan Award Finalist for national defensive player of the year, and quarterback Darius Wilson, the CAA Offensive Rookie of the Year.
In addition its all-conference standouts, W&M returns 17 players (7 offense / 10 defense) who earned at least five starts last season.
