SURRY COUNTY — The Jamestown-Scotland Ferry (JSF) will move to its summer operating schedule at noon, Friday, May 27.
The change in schedule aims to accommodate an anticipated increase in ferry passengers during the summer travel season, according to The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), which operates the ferry.
The JSF’s four ferries transport motorists across the James River from Scotland to Jamestown in both directions — an approximate 20-minute trip — 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, including major holidays. It is a free service.
The summer operating schedule runs through Monday, Sept. 5.
