WILLIAMSBURG — The Williamsburg Contemporary Art Center’s always popular annual Members’ Show opens May 25 and runs through July 8.
“This show offers a special opportunity for members,” said Apryl Altman, exhibit co-chair. “They can submit their best piece of work but don’t have to be juried in to compete in the show – which is different from the juried regional show later in the year.”
“All artwork, whether two- or three-dimensional, is judged for cash awards by a judge outside the organization,” said co-chair Karen Schwartz.” It’s always a tough call, as there are so many beautiful works by the professional and emerging artists in our membership.”
Brian Kreydatus, a professor of art at the College of William & Mary, will judge the show this year. Cash prizes will be awarded for the top three entries and merit winners.
The Members’ Show will be exhibited in all three galleries at WCAC. Also open will be the Artisan Corner, which includes jewelry, sculptures, pottery, fiber art, and other three-dimensional artworks. All artwork is for sale.
WCAC is located in the Blue Building at 110 Westover Ave., and is open Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
