Free E-Waste Recycling Event
On Saturday, April 30, the Habitat for Humanity Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg ReStore in partnership with The Junkluggers of Williamsburg is holding a free e-waste recycling event. Residents are encouraged to bring small appliances, laptops, and other electronics to the ReStore located at 1303 Jamestown Rd. in Williamsburg for this event. Upcoming JCC Planning Commission Meeting Canceled
The meeting for the James City County (JCC) Planning Commission, which was scheduled for Wednesday, May 4, has been canceled. The next meeting will occur on Wednesday, June 1 at 6 p.m. in the JCC Government Center Board Room, located at Building F, 101 Mounts Bay Road in Williamsburg.
Art at the River Juried Art Show Showcases Local Talent
On Sunday, May 8, the Historic Yorktown riverfront will hold its ninth annual Art at the River Juried Art Show. Thirty-seven local artists were selected to participate in this year’s event. This year, guests can watch live demonstrations from the Tidewater Turners of Virginia, food and beverages, as well as music from the The Fifes and Drums of York Town. Babysitting Certification Classes
The York County Chamber of Commerce is hosting babysitting courses for residents ages 10-15 years old. The course will include AHA, CPR, AED, and basic first aid training. Other items discussed will include problem solving, expectation from parents, engaging children of all ages, and basic care for infants. The classes will be held May 7, 11, 14, and 21.
