JAMES CITY COUNTY — James City County (JCC) has reopened the James City County Marina, 2054 Jamestown Rd., after completing phase one of a two part renovation which started in November 2020.

The completed projects include a new paddle craft launch area, which allows for canoers, kayakers and stand-up paddle boarders to access the water at no cost.

Also open to the public is the newly renovated boat ramp and uncovered slips.

The old dock has been replaced with a new ADA-accessible dock system equipped with power and water hookups. All current uncovered slip holders can bring their boats back to the marina.

The first phase of the renovation included dredging the surrounding basin in order to improve boat navigation, installing a rock revetment to stabilize the shoreline and improvements to the marina’s sidewalks and parking lot.

Going forward, JCC is working on installing a refueling and pump-out system. Until the system is installed, marine fuel is available at the Surry Seafood Company Marina in Surry.

For more information on the marina and future renovations, contact the JCC Parks and Recreation Department at (757) 565-3699 or email, parks.rec@jamescitycountyva.gov.
