NORFOLK — Virginia State Police (VSP) announced that the Norfolk Police Department (NPD) has found Bryant Marcus Wilkerson, the second escapee from Eastern State Hospital, who was considered to be armed and dangerous.
NPD arrived at a house located on Hardy Avenue in Norfolk, with warrants on a known suspect. Upon arrival, police attempted to identify the residents.
According to Sergeant Michelle Anaya of Virginia State Police, “The second escapee, Bryant Wilkerson, attempted to give false information using different names. However, NPD was able to determine Wilkerson’s correct identity, of which he later admitted.”
Police discovered that Wilkerson was in possession of a concealed firearm.
He has been charged with possession of a firearm by a violent felon, concealing a firearm, and providing false information.
According to Sergeant Anaya, “[A]dditional outstanding warrants were served, to include failure to appear on grand larceny charges in Chesapeake, and two Virginia Beach warrants for probation violations.”
Wilkerson is currently being held at the Norfolk City Jail without bond.
