WILLIAMSBURG — Three team members from the Chick-Fil-A Monticello Marketplace location were presented with $2,500 Remarkable Futures Scholarships to continue with their education.
The three recipients were Emma Shenk, Julie Jarnagin, and Daniel Williams.
“We are super excited for what this means for Emma, Julie, and Daniel, giving them the ability to further invest in themselves and pursue their long-term dreams,” said Senior Director of Chick-fil-A Monticello Marketplace David Zitzelberg.
The Remarkable Futures scholarship program is offered to Chick-fil-A employees across the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico.
Since 1970, the program has awarded more than $136 million. This year, the it is awarding more than $23 million in scholarships to over 12,700 team members.
According to Chick-fil-A’s website, “Every year through the Remarkable Future Scholarship initiative, Chick-fil-A offers two scholarship opportunities — the True Inspiration Scholarship ($25,000) and the Leadership Scholarship ($1,000 or $2,500) — to Team Members who work at a franchised, company-owned and/or affiliated restaurant. The scholarships can be used at any accredited college, university or technical/vocational school and are available for both full-time and part-time students. Best of all? All scholarship funds are paid in advance.”
Every Chick-fil-A team member is allowed to apply for the scholarship up to 4 times for a possible grand total of $10,000 towards furthering their education.
“While job performance is a piece of the puzzle in determining who is awarded these scholarships, the selection committee also looks at GPA [grade point average], academic honors and awards, demonstrated care and service, as well as leadership feedback from their local store,” Zitzelberger said.
