CANCELED: JCC Parks & Recreation to Host Summer Job Fair

UPDATE (March 10, 2022, 3 p.m.): James City County Parks & Recreation has announced that this event has been canceled due to impending inclement weather and will not be rescheduled. Residents are encouraged to keep checking with the Department for “pop up” hiring events (however, no dates for these events have been announced as of this story update). Additionally, residents are encouraged to apply online for immediate and summer positions with the County. -Ed.

JAMES CITY COUNTY — Locals looking for summer work may find it at an upcoming James City County (JCC) Parks & Recreation job fair.

The department will be hosting a Summer Job Fair on Saturday, March 12 at Veterans Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The fair will feature both seasonal and year-round positions. Seasonal positions can be up to 40 hours per week while year-round positions can be around 28 hours per week.

There will be supervisors available at the job fair, facilitating the ability for attendees to potentially have same-day interviews.

Some of the positions that will be featured and offered at the event are:

  • Lifeguards
  • Recreation Leaders
  • Assistant Recreation Supervisors
  • Therapeutic Recreation Leaders
  • Park Attendants and Instructors

Those interested in applying for one of the positions must be able to successfully complete a drug test and criminal history background check.

Additionally, all applicants must be at least 16 years old at the time of hire.
