NEWPORT NEWS — The Hampton & Peninsula Health Districts announced on Feb. 23 that the Community Vaccination Clinic in Sherwood Shopping Center, 3785 Warwick Blvd. will end operations on Feb. 26.

According to a press release from the Health Districts, the demand for the vaccine has fallen as more people have become fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

As a result, the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) will now focus its efforts on mobile clinics that can deliver the vaccines to areas where access is more challenging.

To date, 16,500 shots have been administered at the Sherwood Clinic since it opened in January.

COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics will continue to operate at the Hampton Health District, 3130 Victoria Blvd. and at the Peninsula Health District, 416 J. Clyde Morris Blvd. Appointments are available from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. To schedule an appointment call (757) 594-8482.

While appointments are preferred, walk-ins are accepted.
