WILLIAMSBURG — Spring is just around the corner and that means new Sports seasons are about to begin.
The Williamsburg Indoor Sports Complex (WISC) announced that registration has opened for its Spring 2022 Youth Recreational Soccer League.
The Spring 2022 Soccer league is open to the following age groups:
- Boys 4-5 Division
- Boys 5-6 Division
- Boys 7-9 Division
- Girls 4-5 Division
- Girls 5-6 Division
- Girls 7-9 Division
- Co-Ed 12-15 Division
The soccer league is scheduled to begin in March. Practice starts on March 14, and the first games are scheduled to be played on March 26.
Practices will take place at 5:30 p.m. on the grass fields outside the WISC at 57000 Warhill Trail. WISC notes on its website that Kingsmill Divisions practice will take place in Kingsmill on Francios Thacker Field.
All games, including games for Kingsmill, will be played at the WISC at 5700 Warhill Trail.
WISC is providing practice equipment for teams that include: 4-5 Soccer Balls, the fields, a goal, and a jersey for each player. The league also requires that players wear shin guards in order to play soccer. Referees check for shin guards before the start of each game and players without them will not be allowed to play in the game.
Players are allowed to use tennis shoes, turf shoes, or any other closed-toe shoe. Cleats are encouraged for players but not required.
Registration is also open for Volunteer Coaches.
