YORK COUNTY — York County is looking for high school students to serve on the York County Youth Commission (YCYC) for the 2022-2023 school year.

The YCYC serves as a link between school-age students in the County and the Board of Supervisors. The members research student issues, problems, needs, ideas and then presents their findings to the Board. The Commission also makes recommendations regarding youth-oriented programs and helps to establish them.

Service on the YCYC increases the student participants’ knowledge of local government and provides opportunities for leadership skills development and close teamwork with other students from across the county.

High school students interested in joining the commission and their parents are encouraged to attend the YCYC meeting on March 9 6 p.m. at in the Fire and Life Safety Meeting Room, 301 Goodwin Neck Rd. to observe and and ask questions.

All applications to serve on the commission are due no later than 5 p.m. on March 25.
