JAMES CITY COUNTY — A single vehicle car wreck in the 9100 block of Richmond Road resulted in the death of a James City County man on 8:20 Sunday night, Feb. 13.
According to a press release from the James City County Police Department (JCCPD), Robert Charles Barnhardt, 40, was driving a 2013 Infinity SUV east on Richmond Road when the truck left the roadway in a curve and struck trees in the median. Burnhardt was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Richmond Road was shut down for approximately three hours. The incident is still under investigation, but JCCPD said that alcohol is believed to have been a factor.
