WILLIAMSBURG — The William & Mary football team continues to build upon its tradition of academic excellence, as 33 Tribe student-athletes were recognized on the CAA Football Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll for the fall semester.
To garner the distinction, student-athletes must be enrolled full-time and have attained a minimum GPA of 3.0 for the designated academic term.
Representing the Tribe for the fall semester were: Zyquan Bessant, Tyler Crist, Marcus Crowell, Gregory Cuffey, Seth Dunn, Jonathan Egwuatu, Carl Fowler, Griffin Gilder, Jarrett Heckert, Gage Herdman, Justin Hiller, Garrett Huyck, Kevin Jarrell, Hunter Klein, Aaron Maisus, Ryan McKenna, Will Michael, Lachlan Pitts, Ryan Poole, Ryan Ripley, David Roulley, Cory Ryder, Sammy Sarantis, Ryan Shonk, Colby Sorsdal, Cam Spangler, Sam Trainer, Colton Turner, Will Whitehurst, Ry Yates, Momen Zahid, Trey Zgombic, David Zhu.
In addition to the success in classroom, W&M totaled the program’s most wins since 2015 this fall and garnered a national ranking multiple weeks. Additionally, the Tribe finished the season with the CAA’s most productive rushing offense and placed seven standouts on the postseason all-conference team, highlighted by defensive end Nate Lynn, a Buck Buchanan Award Finalist for national defensive player of the year, and quarterback Darius Wilson, the CAA Offensive Rookie of the Year.
