UPDATE: Historic Triangle Schools Announce Schedule Changes on Jan. 21 due to Weather

UPDATE (Jan. 20, 2022, 4:50 p.m.): Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools has announced that Friday, Jan. 21 would be considered a “snow day” for students and that all buildings and offices will be closed.

HISTORIC TRIANGLE — York County School Division (YCSD) and *Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools (WJCC) made announcements regarding instruction for all students on Friday, Jan. 21 as a result of inclement weather.

In a statement put out on the YCSD website, school officials said this is their first weather-related shift to online learning.

“As this is our first weather-related shift to virtual learning,” YCSD said in the statement sent out students’ families. “We want to remind families that all students will be expected to log in, as they have previously practiced with their teachers, at the beginning of the school day. Instructions for logging into Teams meetings, based on your child’s device, can also be found on the division website. Students and families will receive additional information regarding student schedules and expectations from their school and/or teacher(s).”

The message also instructs essential school staff to report to work on-site as directed by their supervisor.

Also, all extra curricular activities, including athletic events are canceled for this weekend, Jan. 21-23.

*However, WJCC announced that its buildings and offices will close on Friday, Jan. 21 and this would be considered a “snow day” for its students. All afterschool activities have also been canceled for the district’s students.
