Bike Rentals Now Offered at Freedom Park

JAMES CITY COUNTY — Residents are now able to rent bikes for the various multi-use and mountain biking trails at the historical Freedom Park.

Bike rentals are now available at Freedom Park, located at 5537 Centerville Rd., on weekends.

According to James City County Parks and Recreation, residents can rent a bike and explore Freedom Park, which features nearly 20 miles of dedicated mountain bike trails and over two miles of multi-use trails.

The trails also include a one-mile paved, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant trail.

The bikes are now available for hourly rentals between 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Those ages 17 years and younger must have an adult or guardian who is 18 years or older to sign on their behalf. Riders ages 14 and younger must also have a parent or guardian age 18 years or older with them while riding.

Rental bikes are adult-sized and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. All riders must wear a helmet, which is included in the rental fee.

The hourly rates are $8 for residents, and $10 for non-residents.

Freedom Park is open daily from 7 a.m. to sunset.
