YORK COUNTY — At the final York County School Division (YCSD) School Board meeting for the calendar year, a presentation was offered regarding the system’s annual audit.
During the business portion of the meeting (which took place on Monday, Dec. 13), the Board was presented the annual audit of the YCSD financial report from fiscal year 2021.
Cherry Bekaert, LLP, a certified public accounting firm based in Richmond, conducted the audit. According to Laura Harden, director of Cherry Bekaert, LLP, the report focused on financial statements from the school board, student activity funds, as well as making sure that YCSD remained in compliance with government laws and regulations.
The audit process began in June 2021 and an official report was issued on Nov. 29, stating that no material weaknesses were found in YCSD financial reports.
