WILLIAMSBURG — The Jamestown High School (JHS) drama department is hosting an outdoor holiday walking tour called “I Love Holiday Movies” on Dec. 3 and Dec. 4 from 7 – 8:30 p.m.

The holiday-themed event will feature 36 drama students acting out scenes from popular holiday movies including “Frosty the Snowman,” “Dr. Seuss,” “How The Grinch Stole Christmas,” “Elf,” “The Chronicles of Narnia,” and other films.

“The walking tour came from brainstorming sessions with the students. We wanted to be able to have a fall/winter performance and knew we needed to think outside of the box this year,” said JHS Teacher/Theatre Director, J. Harvey Stone. “The students created a special evening of six short scenes putting in long hours to be ready to share something new with our community. They’ve taken the lead on everything from costumes and stage direction to the scripting and actual performance. And most importantly, they’ve had fun doing it.”

The winter event has been put together in conjunction with the school’s English Honor Society and Key Club. Volunteers from both student organizations will serve as tour guides during the approximately 40-minute long walking tour. The tour groups will be escorted through the school courtyard every 10 minutes to begin their tour.

WJCC says that this program is child-friendly and that they recommend that individuals dress appropriately since this will be an outdoor event.
