Old Dominion University football has been named the Reveal Suits National Team of the Week for the weekend of Sept. 22 following its 49-35 win over No. 13 Virginia Tech Saturday night in Norfolk.

This is the first time for Old Dominion (1-3) to earn this honor, which dates to the 2002 season.

The announcement came on “Off Campus with Mark Packer” on ESPNU Radio on SiriusXM.

Each Monday during the season, the Reveal Suits National Team of the Week will be unveiled during the program, which airs weekdays from 4-7 p.m. ET.

The FWAA’s All-America Committee selects the weekly winner and all Division I FBS and FCS schools are eligible to be selected.

Quarterback LaRussa has earned four weekly accolades after his 495-yard passing day, while Jonathan Duhart and Travis Fulgham each had nine catches and more than 100-yards receiving.

Jeremy Cox rushed for 130-yards and two touchdowns.

Oshane Ximines was named the C-USA Defensive Player of the Week with seven tackles, two sacks and 2.5 tackles for loss, while Sean Carter had a game-high 12 tackles.

Redshirt freshman Marcus Haynes recorded the first two sacks of his career.
