Williamsburg Landing is looking to improve its end-of-life care services by partnering with Hospice House & Support Care of Williamsburg.

Hospice House & Support Care of Williamsburg provides hospice and end-of-life care to those in need and a respite for their caregivers. They serve more than 160 people each year.

They are offering their expertise to the staff of Williamsburg Landing, a senior living and life plan community, according to a James City County Economic Development press release.

Williamsburg Landing allows seniors to live active and independent lives as they age in place. Residents are also provided with comprehensive onsite healthcare.

The training and education will allow Williamsburg Landing to provide better care to residents and their family members, according to the release.

Williamsburg Landing’s team members will be educated on end-of-life protocols, including personal views on dying and death-related anxiety, caregiver self-care, and the signs and stages of the dying process.

“At Williamsburg Landing, we are committed to remaining on the leading edge of senior living,” said Gregory Storer, president and chief executive officer. “Our partnership with Hospice House will support our commitment to best practices in every area of service.”

Training will be led by Hospice House & Support Care Programs Director Nicole Osborne, Clinical Director Heidi Crocker, Chaplaincy Director Hannah Creager and Nurse Consultant Emeritus Bell-Jo Rodgers.

In addition to the new partnership, Williamsburg Landing is already affiliated with International Council on Active Aging, LeadingAge Virginia and the Virginia Health Care Association – Virginia Center for Assisted Living.
