HISTORIC TRIANGLE — The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has released guidance for a fun and safe Trick-or-Treat this Halloween holiday.

While different from last year, the CDC still advises that precautions are taken to make Trick-or-Treat safer during the continued COVID-19 pandemic. Recommendations to adults include:

  • Avoid direct contact with trick-or-treaters
  • Hand out treats outdoors
  • Set up a station with individually bagged treats for kids to take
  • Wash hands before handing out treats
  • Always wear a mask or other CDC-recommended face covering.

Additionally, trick-or-treaters are advised to wear face coverings as per the ones recommended by the CDC. Also, children are advised to use hand sanitizer after touching objects and to wash hands as soon as returning home.

For more information on CDC-recommended guidance for a safe and happy Halloween, a print-out can be found on its website.
