Virginia Beach announces cancellation of events through July 5

The city of Virginia Beach announced that it is cancelling the following events to comply with Governor Northam’s executive orders :
  • Fourth of July Fireworks at both the Oceanfront and Mount Trashmore Park locations
  • Mount Trashmore Summer Carnival, which was scheduled to take place May 29-June 23
  • Party at the Pier, sponsored by Siebert Realty, which was scheduled for June 19 at Little Island Park and Fishing Pier
During Forward Virginia Phase II reopenings, crowds are limited to no more than 50 people. “We are disappointed that these signature events must be canceled this year,” said Mayor Robert M. “Bobby” Dyer. “However, the health and safety of people who live, work and play in Virginia Beach is a top priority. We all play a part in minimizing the spread of COVID-19.”
