NORFOLK — O’Connor Brewing Company has teamed up with the Hampton Boulevard Farmers Market to create an all new farmers market, the Harvest Market.

The new market will be on the first and third Sunday of each month from June 16 through Oct. 6 and will feature up to 27 local vendors each market day, officials said in a news release.

Hours will be noon to 4 p.m.

Michele Ascher and Amy Jordan of We Dig Tidewater LLC already operate the Hampton Boulevard Farmers Market, held in Norfolk on Wednesdays, and the team at O’Connor approached them about organizing an additional market at the brewery on Sundays twice per month, officials said.

“We immediately thought they would make great partners,” Ascher said.

“O’Connor is already a popular place for friends to gather and enjoy great craft beers, and farmers’ markets are community gathering places, as well,” she added.

“Just as craft breweries are independents in the beer world, a farmers’ market gives small family farms and independent, hard-working artisan food producers a place to share their goods directly with discerning consumers. We think the audience at O’Connor will appreciate the freshness and quality of the foods you’ll find here,” Jordan said.

Visitors can expect to find fresh produce, pasture-raised meat and eggs, handmade sausages and cured country hams, fresh seafood, honey, baked goods, locally roasted coffee and other craft beverages, farm-grown fresh flowers and more.

Knife sharpening will also be available, and on select market days, local artists will be offering handmade jewelry, soaps and body care products, candles, ceramics, woodworking pieces and fiber arts.

O’Connor Brewing Company is at 211 West 24th St.
