Dance students from across Hampton Roads and North Carolina will be cast for student roles in “The Nutcracker;” last year’s production featured students from 33 local dance studios.

There will be auditions on Aug. 26 and Sept. 9 at Old Donation School, 4633 Honeygrove Road, as part of the Ballet’s new partnership with the state-of-the-art performing arts school, according to a news release from Richmond Ballet.

Students who are cast will participate in weekly rehearsals at Old Donation School on Sundays, Oct. 7 through Dec. 2.

The student cast will have the unique opportunity to perform alongside the Company’s professional dancers and musicians from the Virginia Symphony Orchestra for four public performances and one youth performance.
