
HAMPTON — The 27th edition of NekoCon, Virginia’s longest-running Anime convention, took place Oct. 31 to Nov. 2 at the Hampton Roads Convention Center.
This year’s theme was Cy-Purr-Punk, and 7,412 attended over the course of the weekend. NekoCon sponsored two charities this year, with $7,249 raised for the Carolina Manga Library and Hampton Roads Cancer Care Foundation.

The theme for NekoCon 28 will be “The Rise of Purrzilla” and it will take place Nov. 6-8, 2026. For more information, visit the official NekoCon website.
