Williamsburg Jewish Community to Mark Return of Hostages with Event Sunday

WILLIAMSBURG — The Williamsburg Jewish community is coming together Sunday for an evening of “remembrance, resilience and hope” following the return of all living hostages from Gaza.

The event, taking place at the Integrated Science Center at William & Mary, will feature Gal Bukshpan, an American Israeli survivor of the Oct. 7, 2023 Nova Music Festival attack.

According to organizers, Bukshpan survived the terrorist attack at the festival while many of his friends were killed, and will share his personal story of “faith, survival, and the miracles that saved his life.”

The event is organized by Chabad at William & Mary, a student organization, in partnership with Temple Beth El, Hillel at William & Mary, AEPi Fraternity at W&M, Jewish Peninsula, Hillel at Christopher Newport University, the Jewish Museum of Culture and Arts and several national partners.

The program is free and open to the public, Jewish and non-Jewish. The event takes place at 6:15 p.m. Oct. 26 at the Integrated Science Center, 1221, at William & Mary. Doors open at 6 p.m., and there is a VIP reception at 5:30 p.m. RSVP is required at ChabadWilliamsburg.org/hope. Security will be present.
