VIRGINIA BEACH — Saturday, to celebrate the kickoff of National EMS Week, Virginia Beach Emergency Medical Services personnel will be at Lynnhaven Mall from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., offering stories, demonstrations, and a chance for the public to meet and learn more about the local EMS.
An ambulance and a squad truck will be located outside the main entrance. Search and Rescue dogs will be located in the center court, along with the VBEMS Bike Team.
Rescue squad members will be demonstrating Stop the Bleed, Chest Compression Only CPR, and basic First Aid.
The event will allow community members who may be interested in joining the local EMS to learn more about what it takes to be a recruit, and also to recognize the EMS personnel who help to keep the city safe day and night.
