The James City-Bruton Volunteer and James City County Fire Departments responded to a structure fire Thursday morning at 9180 Barnes Road in western James City County. Nobody was hurt in the fire.
According to a press release from James City County, fire and EMS units responded to the structure fire at 10:02 a.m. The units that arrived on the scene reported a single story residential structure with visible flames that extended into the attic.
The fire was reported to be under control within 20 minutes. The James City County Fire Marshal’s office has started an investigation into the cause of the fire.
The Red Cross is working with the sole resident of the home to provide assistance.
