Local Breast Health Nonprofit Tractor-Trailer Mascot Stolen

This truck, a mascot for a local breast health nonprofit, was stolen in Kearny, New Jersey, yesterday.

A local breast health group is looking for information on its stolen mascot, a tractor-trailer rig that was taken from its storage unit in Kearny, New Jersey, sometime Friday afternoon.

The truck, which the nonprofit Beyond Boobs! calls Ma-am O’Gram, is a black 2012 Peterbuilt 389 Model tractor trailer with pink racing stripes that has been driving 60,000 miles around the country this year to help spread the nonprofit’s message on the importance of breast health awareness. Beyond Boobs! co-founder Rene Bowditch said the truck was stolen from an industrial park in Kearny sometime between noon and 5 p.m. on Friday. The Kearny Police Department is investigating the crime, but the local nonprofit is asking for the public’s help in finding the vehicle before it is stripped down.

JRC Transportation and Diamond TruckLines of Williamsburg came up with the idea of the mascot-truck in honor of a family member who had breast cancer. The truck says “Keep ‘Em for the Long Haul – Early Detection Saves Lives” on the side.

The rig has been driving around the country with its painted message, and last month it won third place at the Great American Trucking Show in Dallas. Its VIN number, painted in pink lettering, is CD140294.

As of Saturday morning, the vehicle has still not been found, according to the Beyond Boobs! Facebook page.

Anyone with information on the truck’s whereabouts is asked to call Jeff Tritoni at (800) 896-8678, or the truck’s owner Joe Mazzaferro at (757) 570-7093 or the Kearny Police Department.
