SEAFORD — The York County Department of Fire and Life Safety responded to a boat fire in in the 1200 block of Waterview Road in Seaford Monday morning.
According to officials, personnel were dispatched to the report of a boat fire at approximately 8:40 a.m. Dec. 15. On arrival, crew members found smoke in the enclosed cabin of a boat located in a boathouse. Due to concerns that the fire could spread from the boat to the structure, the vessel was moved from the enclosed boat slip to the end of the dock.
The fire was extinguished just after 10 a.m. Damage was limited to the boat, fire officials said.
The cause remains under investigation. There were no injuries.
Aid was provided by Poquoson Fire and Rescue, Newport News Fire Department and Abingdon Fire.
