HAMPTON — The Hampton History Museum is looking for more educational volunteers as the beginning of the school year approaches.
The museum is anticipating an increase in patronage when the school year begins and hopes to increase its educational volunteer staff to keep up with demand.
In addition to tours, education volunteers provide outreach to schools, festivals throughout Hampton Roads and at museum events.
The museum is looking for people passionate about history and those who want to give back to the community.
Officials said all volunteers will receive training and support, along with a number of special perks for being part of the team.
The following volunteer positions are available:
- Special Event volunteer
- Education volunteer
- Collections Management volunteers
- Gift Shop volunteers
- Gardening volunteers
- Museum Administrative volunteers
- Digital Oral History Project volunteers
