WILLIAMSBURG — Incumbents Barbara Ramsey and William “Pat” Dent appeared set to return to Williamsburg City Council after Tuesday’s election, and look likely to be joined by William & Mary student Ayana Williams.

Five candidates ran for three available seats on the council. Incumbent Caleb Rogers chose not to run for reelection.

Unofficial results from the state Department of Elections as of 9:34 a.m. Wednesday showed Dent with a majority of votes at 23.46% and Williams close behind at 23.03%. Ramsey polled in at 21.43% of the vote to secure the third available seat.

Fraser Hudgins had 17.58% of the vote and Lindsay Barna had 13.56%

Dent, the former Williamsburg fire chief and current vice mayor, would be returning for a second term and Ramsey for a third.
