WILLIAMSBURG — A Town Hall scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 3 featuring the new candidates running for Williamsburg City Council was canceled Tuesday night due to the unavailability of several of the candidates.

The event, Conversations with City Council Newcomer Candidates, which had been slated to take place at the Williamsburg Library Auditorium, was to have featured Williamsburg City Council candidates Fraser Hudgins, Lindsay Barna and Ayanna Williams answering questions from an interview panel and the audience.

The organizers instead encouraged the Williamsburg community to participate in the rescheduled National Night Out (NNO) which will be hosted by the Williamsburg Police Department at the Williamsburg Community Building on Thursday, Oct. 3 from 5-7 p.m.
“NNO is our biggest community event of the year. We would like as many of our citizens as possible to come interact with our police officers and meet our public safety partners,” Chief Sean Dunn said. “Come have a no-cost dinner and snacks and enjoy entertainment for the whole family!”
Information on future candidate forums, including the one sponsored by the William & Mary Student Assembly, should be forthcoming, organizers said.
