HISTORIC TRIANGLE — With the weather changing and autumn breezes filling the historic triangle, WYDaily has pulled together a list of local activities and events taking place through the end of the spooky season.
Pumpkin Patches and Farms
- College Run Farms, a ferry ride away in Surry, will open in October.
- Holly Fork Farm begins its season Sept. 21. (Closed Sept. 23, 24 and 30. Open Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Sunday through Monday 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Last day open is Oct. 31, open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.)

- Pumpkinville popped up Sept. 20 in Toano. (Open from 9 a.m to 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday)
Seasonal Activities
- Busch Gardens Howl-O-Scream runs select nights through Nov. 3
- Green Cauldron Apothecary has an amazing display, not to be missed. Open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday to Saturday.
- Every Monday, Sept. 23 through Oct. 28 at 7 p.m., Williamsburg Winery hosts “The Lingering Spirits of The Williamsburg Winery” presented by The Original Ghost Tours of Williamsburg. This is a two-hour ghost tour plus wine tasting experience. Tickets required.
- Fall for Autumn Afternoon Tea at the Williamsburg Inn. Sept. 26 and 27. Reservations required.
- ’80s Costume Party at Revolution Grille and Golf. Celebrate Halloween in style with Barry Manilow’s Wardrobe playing a selection of Alternative ’80s and New Wave Music. Friday, Oct. 25, 8 p.m. until 11 p.m.
- Fall Bazaar on Saturday, Oct. 5, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Providence United Methodist Church-113 Old Dare Road, Yorktown.
- Family Fall Fest at Billsburg Brewery Saturday, Nov. 23 from noon to 5 p.m.
- Berkeley’s Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch, Berkeley Plantation, Charles City. Various dates though Nov. 1. Tickets required.
- Harvest Party at Smith Memorial Baptist Church. Oct. 27, 4-6 p.m.

Fall Yard Sale & Bazaar. Williamsburg Realtors office, 5000 New Point Road, Williamsburg Sept. 28. (Rain date: Oct. 5) from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. Proceeds will benefit Habitat for Humanity.

Boo Bash at the Beach takes place at Jamestown Beach on Oct. 12 from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m.

The Costume Sale. Stock up on things for spirit days, formal events, and of course all the Halloween parties. Oct. 23 (8 p.m. to 11 p.m.) and Oct. 24 (10 a.m. until 5 p.m.) at William & Mary Sandler Center. All proceeds benefit FISH, Inc.
- Disability Awareness Trick or Treat presented by JCC Parks & Rec. on Come Trick or Treating in a fun, sensory friendly environment while learning about community resources for children and adults with disabilities. Sat. Oct 26, 9 a.m. to noon at Abram Frink Jr. Community Center.

Seeking Jack the Ripper at the Williamsburg Regional Library. Join author Bradley Harper as he discusses the phenomenon that became known as Jack the Ripper. Sat. Oct. 26 at 3 p.m.

Crime Writers In Conversation: E. A. Aymar & LynDee Walker at Yorktown Library Meeting Room for a lively discussion of crime fiction with authors E. A. Aymar and LynDee Walker. This is a free event. Registration is required. Saturday, Oct. 12 at 1:30 p.m.
- Go Ape Frights at a Height. Guests will find zombies, ghosts, and ghouls hiding around dark corners of the Treetop Journey zipline and ropes course. Select nights, reservations are required.

Yorktown Market Days — Fall Festival, Saturday, Oct. 12 on the Yorktown Waterfront. 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Williamsburg Old Time Radio Hour: Halloween Show at Kimball Theatre Sunday, Oct. 13 at 3 p.m. Tickets required.
- Pumpkin Painting at The Virginia Beer Company. Wednesday, Oct. 16 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Pumpkins will be for sale, while supplies last.
- Haunted Bacon’s Castle in Surry will take place on Oct. 12 and 26. Experience campfire, ghost stories, tours, costumed interpreters and Q&A with paranormal investigators. Historical costumes are welcome, and a food truck will be on-site each evening. Tickets required.
- Williamsburg Fall Festival, Nov. 2 from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. at Midtown Row. This event is free and open to the public. Live music by WOAH! (90s music), craft beer, mechanical bull, petting zoo, rock climbing wall, games, and more!
Local Ghost Tours
Tickets and reservations are required for all tours:
- Colonial Ghost offers ghost tours, ghost hunts and cemetery tours.
- Spooks and Legends offers ghost, witch and pirate tours along with the Dead of Night Tour.
- Yorktown Ghost Walks offers several tours and are run by the Virginia Paranormal Investigations.
- For something a bit different, try the Jamestown River Haunted Cruise or the Jamestown Murder Cruise.
Colonial Williamsburg Events
- Cry Witch evening program. Select nights, tickets required. Not appropriate for young children due to the subject matter and intense emotion.

Ghouls, Ghosts, and Gleeful Gloom Sing along, shiver, and quake during this delightful family-friendly program of spooky tunes and songs veteran performers. Oct. 30 at 5:30 p.m. Tickets required.
- Haunted Williamsburg is the official ghost tour experience of Colonial Williamsburg. This one-hour candlelit walking tour is suitable for ages eight and older. Tickets are required.
