November 2024 Election Information as Early Voting Begins

HISTORIC TRIANGLE — With early voting set to begin on Sept. 20, WYDaily has put together some important information ahead of the Nov. 5 elections.

CANDIDATES (Based on Virginia Department of Elections as of Sept. 6)

United States President/Vice President

Democratic Nominees: Kamala D. Harris– President, Tim Walz- Vice President

Republican Nominees: Donald J. Trump– President, JD Vance- Vice President

Green Party Nominees: Jill E. Stein– President, Rudolph T. Ware III- Vice President

Libertarian Nominees: Chase R. Oliver– President, Mike ter Maat- Vice President

Independent Nominees: Claudia De la Cruz– President, Karina Garcia- Vice President

United States Senate

Democratic Nominee: Timothy M. Kaine

Republican Nominee: Hung Cao

City of Williamsburg City Council (Citizens can vote for up to 3 candidates)

TIMELINE

Sept. 20 — First day of in-person early voting.

Oct. 15 — Deadline to register or update an existing registration (Voters may register after this date, through Election Day, and vote using a provisional ballot)

Oct. 25 — Deadline to apply for a mail ballot (Your request must be received by your local voter registration office by 5 p.m.)

Nov. 2 — Last day of in-person early voting, ends at 5 p.m.

Nov. 5 — Election Day (Polling hours are from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m. As long as you are in line by 7 p.m., you will be able to vote.)
