WILLIAMSBURG — William & Mary announced it will test its emergency notification system on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 12:15 p.m.

The drill will include both a test of the campus-wide siren system and the mass notification messaging system, it said.

The siren system includes nine sirens with 400-watt speakers stationed across campus, thus, anyone near campus is also likely to hear them, the university said, adding that in the event of an emergency, people in the community who hear the siren would be able to check for information and instructions at wm.edu.

Members of the local community can also follow emergency news through the William & Mary News pages on the Facebook and X social media platforms, as well as via the free W&M mobile app.
