WILLIAMSBURG — The Williamsburg-based Three Jolly Coachmen will kick off the third season of the popular The Three Jolly Coachmen’s Coffee House concert series on Friday, Sept. 20 at Bruton Parish Episcopal Church’s fellowship hall.
The Three Jolly Coachmen — Gary Allen, Joe Duggan and Greg Davy, supported by bassist Andy Petkofsky — will perform a selection of the songs from The Kingston Trio, one of America’s hottest pop acts in the late 1950s and early 1960s known for American folk music.
The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. in Lewis Hall at 330 W. Duke of Gloucester St. Tickets are $20 and $30. A portion of ticket sales and 100% of all drink donations will benefit Blooms That Brighten, a Williamsburg-based charity whose mission is to improve quality of life through flowers.
Blooms That Brighten’s ‘Flower Therapy’ program brings together volunteers with senior care community residents to create and handcraft flower arrangements. This program engages these individuals in a cognitive and physical activity, which fosters brighter spirits and creates moments of kindness.
Since the series began in 2022, the Three Jolly Coachmen Coffee House concerts have donated a total of $14,400 to several Williamsburg-area charities, including the Williamsburg House of Mercy, Grove Christian Outreach Center, the Bruton Parish Community Closet, SpiritWorks, Colonial CASA, Faith In Action, the Heritage Humane Society and the local chapter of the USO.
