WILLIAMSBURG — After earning an impressive 41-7 victory against VMI in its season opener, the William & Mary football team jumped to No. 13 in this week’s Stats Perform FCS Top 25 Poll.
The Tribe, which was ranked 15th in last week’s national poll, was dominant in its season-opening triumph, as it outgained the Keydets, 446-241. W&M’s balanced offensive attack produced more than 200 yards both on the ground (205 yards) and through the air (241 yards).
Defensively, the Tribe was equally dominant and limited VMI to just 72 total yards during the second half as it held the Keydets scoreless during the final 30 minutes.
W&M returns to action when it plays at Coastal Carolina this Saturday at 7 p.m. The game will be available on ESPN+, while fans can also listen to a live broadcast over the airwaves locally on The Tide 92.3 FM and 107.9 FM and via the Internet at TideRadio.com.
The Tribe’s next home game will be on Sept. 21 when it hosts No. 15 Furman at Zable Stadium. Tickets are available at TribeAtheltics.com.
