Hope Sears of Yorktown Earns Advanced Degree from University of Maryland Global Campus

Hope Sears of Yorktown earned a Master of Business Administration from University of Maryland Global Campus.

Sears was one of nearly 600 students to earn an advanced degree from UMGC in late spring 2024. Degrees were conferred on June 30 for the Doctor of Business Administration and Master of Business Administration, as well as a variety of master of science specializations.

Dylan Norris Has Been Named to the University of Delaware Dean’s List

Dylan Norris from Toano has been named to the University of Delaware Dean’s List for the Spring 2024 semester.

To meet eligibility requirements for the Dean’s List, a student must be enrolled full-time and earn a GPA of 3.5 or above (on a 4.0 scale) for the semester.

Roger Williams University Announces 2024 Graduates

The following students received their degrees in May as part of the Class of 2024.

  • Latoya Kentish of Yorktown graduated with an A.S. in Professional Legal Studies in May as part of the Class of 2024.
  • Kalesei Orr of Williamsburg graduated with an A.S. in Professional Legal Studies in May as part of the Class of 2024.

University of Wyoming Spring Semester Dean’s and Dean’s Freshman Honor Rolls: Virginia

The University of Wyoming lists the following students from Virginia on the 2024 spring semester academic Dean’s and Dean’s Freshman Honor Rolls.

The honor rolls consist of regularly enrolled undergraduates above freshman standing who earned a 3.4 or better grade-point average, and freshmen who have earned a 3.25 or better grade-point average. To be eligible, students must have been enrolled for a minimum of 12 credit hours taken for letter grades.

Yorktown resident named to Clark University’s Spring Dean’s List

Bradyn R. Potter, of Yorktown, was named to first honors on the Clark University Dean’s List. This selection marks outstanding academic achievement during the Spring 2024 semester.

Students must have a GPA of 3.8 or above for first honors or a GPA between 3.50 and 3.79 for second honors.

Founded in 1887, Clark University is a liberal arts-based research university.

University of Maryland Global Campus Announces Spring 2024 Graduates

University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) graduated nearly 14,000 students worldwide during the 2023-24 academic year. Students from all 50 states, three U.S. territories, and 24 countries earned UMGC degrees and more than 3,200 graduates attended ceremonies around the world, including in Germany, Japan, Korea, and Guam, as well as “Grad Walk” in Adelphi, Maryland, in May.

Ryan Golub, of Williamsburg, Graduated from The University of Tampa

Ryan Golub of Williamsburg graduated from The University of Tampa. Golub received a Bachelor of Science in Criminology and Criminal Justice BS.

The commencement ceremony honored 1,717 undergraduate and graduate candidates and included remarks by President Ronald Vaughn, alumni Marty Rifkin and Xavier Cannella, and the student challenge speaker.

UT Student, Megan Sapp of Seaford, Earned Dean’s List Honors

Megan Sapp of Seaford earned dean’s list honors at The University of Tampa for the Spring 2024 semester. Sapp was a Junior majoring in History BA.

Students must maintain a GPA of 3.75 or higher to be eligible for the dean’s list.

Kaylah Montoya named to spring 2024 chancellor’s list

Kaylah Montoya of Williamsburg has been named to the spring 2024 chancellor’s list at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

Students receiving a 3.9 grade point average or higher are placed on the chancellor’s list, while those receiving a grade point average of between 3.5 and 3.89 are named to the deans’ list. The lists recognize students’ outstanding academic achievements.

UAF is a Land, Sea and Space Grant institution and is the leading doctoral degree-granting institution in the state of Alaska.

Green announced as a May 2024 UCA graduate

The University of Central Arkansas held fall commencement on Friday, May 3, and Saturday, May 4, in the Farris Center on campus. Degrees and certificates were conferred to approximately 1,600 graduates from the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences; College of Business; College of Education; College of Health and Behavioral Sciences; College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics; and Graduate School.

Kathy Green of Williamsburg graduated with a Doctor of Nursing Practice.

St. Mary’s College of Maryland Announces Spring 2024 Dean’s List

Brianna Anderson, a resident of Yorktown, was awarded Dean’s List honors for academic achievement during the Spring 2024 semester at St. Mary’s College of Maryland, the National Public Honors College.

Dean’s List honors are awarded to full-time students at St. Mary’s College who earn a semester grade-point average of 3.5 or better on 12 or more graded credits.

St. Mary’s College of Maryland is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. Approximately 1,600 students attend the college, nestled on the St. Mary’s River in Southern Maryland.
