CARY, N.C. — William & Mary baseball Pitching Coach Brad Mincey served as a coach for the 2024 16U/17U National Team Development Program (NTDP) at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina. on July 25-28.
Mincey was appointed to work with pitchers during the event, appointed to work with Team White and its staff managed by long-time MiLB manager Dave Trembley.
This year’s NTDP featured a 66-player roster split into three teams. The three teams, along with the Canadian Junior National Team, played in a round-robin format across the four days. The agenda also included workouts, skill development sessions, off-field educational seminars, and exposure to professional scouts, college recruiters, USA Baseball staff, and national team coaches. Additionally, the coaching staff worked to assess and evaluate players for possible future participation in USA Baseball national team programming.
Team White opened the round-robin game format with a victory over the Canadian Junior National Team. Over 7.0 innings in its three games, Team White starters fanned 11 and allowed just four hits and one run. Eight of Mincey’s pitchers posted a 0.00 ERA throughout the weekend, including a no-hit start in the second game.
