W&M Football Standouts Grant, Yoder Selected to Phil Steele Preseason All-America Team

WILLIAMSBURG — William & Mary senior left tackle Charles Grant and senior running back Bronson Yoder were selected to the Phil Steele Preseason All-America Team.

Grant earned first-team distinction, while Yoder was named to the fourth team.

Recently chosen to the Walter Payton Award Preseason Watch List, Grant and Yoder have also been selected as preseason All-Americans by Stats Perform and FCS Football Central. The duo was also tabbed to the East-West Shrine Bowl 1000 Watch List and garnered preseason All-CAA honors by the league’s head coaches.

The duo was among an impressive group of 13 Tribe standouts who combined to earn 14 preseason all-conference honors by Phil Steele.  Grant, Yoder, Ryan McKenna (OL) and Marcus Barnes (DB) earned first-team distinction, while Trey McDonald (FB/HB), Jalen Jones (DB) and Hollis Mathis (PR) garnered second-team accolades. Malachi Imoh (RB), Sean McElwain (TE) and Alex Washington (LB) were on the third team, while JT Mayo (WR), Bart Francois (OL), Jonathan Hammond (DL) and Mathis (AP) were tabbed to the fourth team.

In addition to garnering multiple preseason top-20 rankings, W&M enters the 2024 campaign having posted three consecutive winning seasons. Additionally, the Tribe earned a top-25 ranking during each of the last three years.
