Arrest Made in July York-Poquoson Court House Bomb Threat

YORK COUNTY — The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office announced it made an arrest Friday in connection with a July 17 bomb threat to one of the offices in the York-Poquoson Court House.

The Sheriff’s Office said 53-year-old Timothy William Nettles of Yorktown was arrested Aug. 2 and charged with Threats to Bomb — a Class 5 Felony.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, on July 17, at approximately 7:45 a.m., Sheriff’s Office Courthouse Security deputies were informed that a bomb threat had been phoned in to one of the offices in the York-Poquoson Court House. After conducting a thorough investigation, the courthouse was reopened at approximately noon.

Sheriff’s Office Investigators were assigned to this case and were able to identify the suspect. Nettles is currently incarcerated in the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail.
