The REV3 Triathlon May Impact Traffic in James City County This Weekend

JAMES CITY COUNTY — The REV3 Triathlon, set for Saturday, June 29, in James City County, may cause road delays on Route 5/John Tyler Highway near Chickahominy Riverfront Park.

The park will serve as the host site for the event, and all scheduled events — Kids Duathlon, REVSprint and REVOlympic — will occur on Saturday and may also impact park traffic, according to the county.

Chickahominy Riverfront Park patrons will be impacted on Saturday as well. The park, swimming pool, splash pad and fishing pier will remain open, however, the boat ramp and paddle craft rentals will be closed.

During the race, James City County noted it offers a variety of water recreation location alternatives:

  • Boat ramps are available at:
    Brickyard Landing, 990 Brickyard Road
Diascund Reservoir Park (electric motors only), 9551 Diascund Reservoir Park Road
Little Creek Reservoir Park (electric motors only) 180 Lakeview Road
James City County Marina (some restrictions apply due to the Colonial Parkway), 2054 Jamestown Road
  • Kayaks, canoes and other small boats may be launched at all boat ramps, Powhatan Creek Park, the James City County Marina and Jamestown Beach Event Park, 2205 Jamestown Road
  • Paddlecraft rentals are available at Jamestown Beach Event Park and James City County Marina
