Conquer the Virginia Capital Trail this Summer

(Virginia Capital Trail)

RICHMOND – The Virginia Capital Trail Foundation invites you to embrace the spirit of adventure and fitness this summer with its Capital Trail Summer Challenge presented by Atlantic Union Bank.

Running through September 9, this exciting challenge encourages participants to get active by conquering all 51.7 miles along the Capital Trail.

Participants can choose from one of three unique mileage goals, select their activity, and compete for prizes.

Distances include conquering all 51.7 miles of the Capital Trail, completing the 103.4 “There and Back Again”, or the 465.3-mile “Birthday Challenge” in celebration of nine years of trail adventures.

Distance goals can be achieved all at once or in sections, with the only requirement being that participants pass every mile marker along the Capital Trail. Additional mileage can be logged on the Capital Trail or explored somewhere new.

“The Summer Challenge is all about embracing health, fitness, and community,” says Cat Anthony, Executive Director of the Virginia Capital Trail Foundation. “We’re thrilled to showcase all the unique ways people can enjoy the outdoors and stay active on the Capital Trail.”

Registration includes an end-of-summer party on September 14th with fellowship, community, and an award ceremony. Registration is $25 before a $5 price increase on July 9th. All proceeds support the work of the Virginia Capital Trail Foundation.

Take on the challenge and celebrate summer, fitness, and community spirit! For additional details and to register, please click here.
