WILLIAMSBURG — William & Mary men’s basketball head coach Brian Earl
announced the signing of Isaiah Mbeng (Potomac, Md. / Winston Churchill / Prolific Prep Post Grad) to a National Letter of Intent on Monday. Mbeng is the second freshman and seventh player overall to sign with the Tribe for the 2024-25 season.
Mbeng helped lead Churchill to county championships in 2022 and 2023. As a junior, he helped lead Churchill to the Maryland 4A state championship, before falling in double OT to Eleanor Roosevelt.
Mbeng comes from a basketball family. His older brother, Benz, is a senior at Yale and is the two-time Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year.
Mbeng joins fellow freshman Ryan Jackson (Mesa, Ariz./AZ Compass Prep) along with transfers Keller Boothby (Plano, Texas / Prestonwood Christian Academy / Cornell), Malachi Ndur (St. Thomas, Ontario / Cushing Academy / Brown), Kyle Pulliam (Silver Spring, Md. / Our Lady of Good Counsel / St. Thomas Aquinas) and Jack Scott (Colorado Springs, Colo. / The Hun School / Princeton) as part of the Tribe’s incoming class.
