WILLIAMSBURG — William & Mary head men’s basketball coach Brian Earl announced the addition of transfer guard Jack Scott (Colorado Springs, Colo. / The Hun School / Princeton) to the Tribe roster for 2024-25. Scott will have two years of eligibility remaining and is the fourth member of the Tribe’s incoming group for next season.
“Jack has a great basketball pedigree,” Earl said. “He played at a high-level in high school and in the Sweet 16 in college. Jack’s experience and maturity will have an impact on our backcourt. He has great size and is a good rebounder for a guard, possesses excellent court vision, and really guards on the defensive end.”
A 6-6 guard, Scott played in 47 games over his two seasons at Princeton where he averaged 2.4 points and nearly two rebounds per game. The Tigers were 47-14 over the last two years, winning the Ivy League Tournament title and advancing to the Sweet 16 in 2023 and taking home the Ivy League regular season crown this past season.
Scott was a key reserve for the Tigers in 2023-24, appearing in all 29 games and playing 12.2 minutes per contest. He averaged 2.3 points and 2.2 rebounds per contest, while shooting 41.5% from the field. Scott scored a season-high seven points at Saint Joseph’s in December.
During his freshman season, Scott averaged 2.7 points per game over 18 appearances. He nearly had a double-doubles with career-highs of 13 points and nine rebounds against Cairn in November. He also tallied eight points and handed out a career-high six assists against CAA foe Monmouth in December.
Scott was a standout at The Hun School as he was twice named to the All-Mid-Atlantic Prep League First Team. He averaged 18 points, nine rebounds, five assists, and two steals as a senior. He wrapped up his prep career being named the 2021-22 Trentonian Prep Player of the Year. He was also a New Jersey Prep A First Team pick during his junior and senior campaigns.
Scott is the fourth newcomer to sign with the Tribe for 2024-25. He joins fellow transfers Kyle Pulliam (Silver Spring, Md. / Our Lady of Good Counsel / St. Thomas Aquinas) and Keller Boothby (Plano, Texas / Prestonwood Christian Academy / Cornell) and freshman Ryan Jackson (Mesa, Ariz./AZ Compass Prep) as part of the Tribe’s incoming class.
