WILLIAMSBURG — William & Mary head men’s basketball coach Brian Earl announced the signing of forward Ryan Jackson (Mesa, Ariz./AZ Compass Prep) to a National Letter of Intent. Jackson becomes the second player to join the Tribe for the 2024-25 season.
“Ryan is a versatile player who can really shoot the basketball,” Earl said. “He is a good athlete and has a great basketball sense. He almost always does the right thing and is the right spot on the court.”
Jackson just wrapped up his career at AZ Compass Prep, twice earning Cyber Interscholastic Basketball Alliance (CIBA) all-league first team in 2023 and 2024. As a senior this past season, he was a McDonald’s All-American nominee.
The 6-7, 205-pound guard/forward averaged 19 points, nine rebounds, two assists and 1.5 steals per game in 2023-24. He shot 54% from the field, 42% from 3 and 81% at the free throw line, while averaging 2.9 made 3-pointers per game. In 2022-23, he averaged 17.7 points, 6.8 rebounds and two assists, while shooting 58.9% from the field, 46.3% in 3-point range, and 85% from the free throw in CIBA play
As a junior, Jackson tallied 41 points on 8-of-11 from 3-point range in a road win over Grind Session Team Premier Prep in March of 2023. He played on the UnderArmor Rise Circuit for North Bay Basketball Academy.
Jackson comes from an athletic family. His mother, Kathy, played volleyball at both the University of Arizona and Portland State (2000-04), while his father, Ryan Sr., played football at University of St. Francis (2000-01).
Jackson joins St. Thomas Aquinas transfer Kyle Pulliam (Silver Spring, Md. / Our Lady of Good Counsel) as part of the Tribe’s incoming class for 2024-25.
