We interact with the local community through sponsorships with organizations such as Here For The Girls, CDR, Alzheimer’s Association, Williamsburg Senior Softball; we have been actively involved in charitable efforts for FISH, Lackey Free Clinic, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Big Brothers Big Sisters and Literacy for Life, and have also contributed health expertise to local area schools.

What is something about your job most people wouldn’t know about?
People might be surprised to know that we focus on balance, mobility and functionality, in addition to building strength. We often receive referrals from Physicians, Physical Therapists and Chiropractors, whose patients are recovering from disease or injury.

Finding and following my passion have been keys to my success. Living a life that’s aligned with my true self — one that acknowledges my core values, beliefs and desires — has allowed me to have a positive impact on my team, my community and my clients.
What is your most successful accomplishment to date?
Building a thriving fitness company and impacting the lives of those in our community, while balancing work, family and my own personal fitness and wellness, has been my most successful accomplishment.

I moved from Wisconsin to Williamsburg in 1999. I have lived here for 25 years, and I established Bdefined Fitness in 2005.
What is your favorite part of being in the Historic Triangle?
I love being part of a small, local community, where I can build life-long relationships and support other local businesses. I enjoy participating in the local markets and music and arts culture. We love hiking at York River State Park and Freedom Park, and biking the Capital Trail.
What do you do for downtime/to relax?
In my downtime, I play trombone with the Ford’s Colony Dance Band, enjoy traveling with my husband, Ralph and son, Bryce, working out, and watching my son play soccer.
What is the next step in your journey?
