WILLIAMSBURG — Tribe Athletics has announced registration is now open for the third annual William & Mary Women’s Lacrosse Golf Tournament, hosted by Mike Tomlin and Rondé Barber.

The tournament takes place April 7 at Ford’s Colony. The cost to play is $500 per golfer.

Tomlin ’95, a former W&M record-setting wide receiver, is one of the NFL’s legendary head coaches and just completed his 16th season leading the Pittsburgh Steelers. In addition to becoming the youngest head coach to win the Super Bowl, he has never had a losing season with the Steelers.

Barber, a W&M Lax Dad, was an All-Pro cornerback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and was recently selected for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He played his entire 16-year professional career for the Buccaneers and helped the organization win a Super Bowl.

“We are tremendously excited to gather for a full day of fun and comradery with two NFL legends to support our women’s lacrosse program,” W&M Director of Athletics Brian Mann said. “This unique golf experience has quickly become one of our signature annual events, and we are grateful for Mike and Rondé’s steadfast support, as well as the generosity of all those who join us in the commitment to enhance the student-athlete experience at W&M. Of course, we also truly appreciate Claudia Barber, whose expertise and planning make this a special event. I look forward to seeing everyone there!”

Last year’s tournament raised nearly $100,000 to help enhance the W&M Lacrosse program.

“This is an event as a program and staff that we look forward to every year,” W&M Head Coach Colleen Dawson said. “We have been very fortunate to have this be an incredible fundraiser for our program and look forward to an amazing day on April 7th. We hope to see many Tribe fans there!”
