Northeastern Forfeits Thursday’s Women’s Basketball Game at William & Mary

WILLIAMSBURG — Thursday’s women’s basketball game between William & Mary and Northeastern at Kaplan Arena has been forfeited by the Huskies and subsequently canceled.

Northeastern informed W&M and the CAA they would be unable to play the game as scheduled due to roster availability issues.

The game will be a “no contest” based on NCAA policy but will count as a win for the Tribe and a loss for the Huskies in the CAA standings according to conference policy.

Northeastern’s forfeiture boosts the Tribe’s league record to 12-5 with one game to play in the regular season. W&M will host regular season champion Stony Brook for senior day at 1 p.m.

The Tribe still has a chance to receive a top-four seed and a double bye in the CAA Tournament depending on the results of Charleston, Towson and Monmouth’s final two games.

W&M could be as high as the three seed and as low as the sixth seed heading into Thursday’s action.

Tickets are still on sale for Saturday’s senior day and the CAA Tournament in Washington D.C. Visit tribeathletics.com/tickets for more information.
