William & Mary to Test Emergency Notification System Wednesday

WILLIAMSBURG — William & Mary will test its Emergency Notification System Wednesday, Feb. 21 at 12:15 p.m., it announced.

The drill will include both a test of the campus-wide siren system and the mass notification messaging system. According to William & Mary, the siren system includes nine sirens with 400-watt speakers stationed across campus. Anyone near campus will likely hear them.

In the event of a real emergency, William & Mary said people in the community who hear the siren may check for information and instructions at wm.edu.

Members of the local community can also follow emergency news through the William & Mary News Facebook and X (formerly known as Twitter) pages, as well as the free W&M mobile app.
